It was shown that I contg. low sulfate and II concns. but high concns. of heavy fractions produced better dispersion of Synten Brown P 2RL [67016-29-9] dye in water than less pure I samples. The sulfates were detd. gravimetrically as BaSO4, II and R were obtained by paper chromatog., and I free acid was isolated by ion exchange and detd. by acidimetry.
