(Pakistan Counc. Sci. Ind. Res. Lab., Lahore, Pak.). Pak. J. Sci.There are some reagents like 127-91-3 is used in this study. Ind. Res., 19(5-6), 239-42 (English) 1976. CODEN: PSIRAA. ISSN: 0030-9885. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 62 (Essential Oils and Cosmetics) The yields of oils of seeds of C. cyminum from the Peshawar and Quetta regions were 3.5% and 3%. Ecol. conditions of the 2 places affected the oil compn. as indicated by the variations in the hydrocarbon fraction. b-Pinene [127-91-3] and g-terpinene [99-85-4] were the major terpenes in both the oils (33.3 and 41.1%). P-cymene [99-87-6] was present to the extent of 6% in one and only 2.7% in the other. The content of oxygenated terpenes cuminaldehyde [122-03-2] and cumin alc. [536-60-7] was quite high; i.e., (22.In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 127-91-3 4 and 20%) and (7.2 and 3.7%). The oil was comparable to those obtained from other com. sources. ..

- Insect maturation inhibitors. Schwarz, Meyer; Miller, Richard W.; Wright, James E. (United States Dept. of Agriculture, USA). U. S. Pat. Appl. US 605354 15 Aug 1975, 17 pp. Avail. NTIS. (English). (United States of America). CODEN: XAXXAV. APPLICATION: US 75-605354 15 Aug 1975. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Aryl terpenoid compds. I and II, where R = Et or iso-Pr, R1 = Me or Et, were prepd. and found to be effective eclosion-inhibiting agents against the housefly (Musca domestica), the face fly (M. autumnalis), the stable fly (Stomoxys calcitrans), the horn fly (Haematobia irritans), and the mosquito (Anopheles quadrimaculatus). Thus III (I, R = iso-Pr, R1=Et) [54119-71-0] was prepd. by a series of reactions from p-isopropylbenzyl alc. [536-60-7], involving the prepn. of the chloride [2051-18-5], followed by prepn. of the phenylphosphonium chloride [59821-98-6], which in turn was reacted with citronellal [106-23-0]. The product, 4,8-dimethyl-1-(p-isopropylphenyl)nona-1,7-diene [62312-60-1] was reduced, methylated, and ethoxylated yielding III. III, when pesent in cattle feces (dosage fed cattle 0.5 mg/kg body wt./day) gave 100% inhibition of adult eclosion of the face fly, stable fly, and horn fly, and 64% inhibition of the housefly. Against the mosquito III had an LC50 of 0.0040 ppm. These aryl terpenoids may be applied in growth media or in animal feed.
