The additives were effective in rubbers filled with carbon black and did not cause redn. of the initial phys. properties of the vulcanizates. Thus, a vulcanization mixt. contg. natural rubber 100, ZnO 5, stearic acid 1, S 1.5, tetramethylthiuran disulfide 0.5, and I 1.0 parts was vulcanized 20 min at 135.degree. and was aged 5 weeks at 70.degree.. During aging the breaking strength decreased from 204 to 92 kg/cm2, elongation from 865 to 585%, and the Shore hardness changed from 40 to 43. The resp. changes for a vulcanizate without I were 211 to 7 kg/cm2, 825 to 220%, and 41 to 28.
