The resulting denture is resistant to soiling and has high dimensional stability. DBS or related compds. promote the polymn. of the monomer at a lower temp. than a compn. not contg. it. A mixt. of powdery PMMA 95, glyceryl monostearate 4, DBS 1 and water 200 parts by wt. was stirred at 60° and cooled and filtered. The resulting filtrate was dried to give 96 parts mixt. of PMMA and DBS in which the stearate was uniformly spread. This mixt. was put in 50 parts of Me methacrylate monomer contg. 0.8 part Me Et ketone peroxide as a catalyst and polymd. at 100° in a mold for dentures. The dimension stability and soiling resistance of the resulting denture were better than those of the control which did not contain DBS.Except for chemicals metioned above, 80-62-6 and 54686-97-4 are also used. .
