The Dv values were compared with the diffusion coeffs., DL and DF, obtained from the lag times of the membrane permeation processes and the release rates, resp. Only the DL and DF valves agreed. The DF in the polymer membrane for both drugs was in the order: polydimethyl siloxane > ethylene-Et acrylate copolymer [9010-86-0] > ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer [24937-78-8], polyamide 6 [25038-54-4] and polyamide 66 [32131-17-2] > cellulose triacetate [9012-09-3] > polyamide 610 [9008-66-6] > PVC [9002-86-2] > polypropylene [9003-07-0]. The variation of the diffusion coeffs. was more pronounced than the variation of the resp. paraffin coeffs. The diffusion coeffs. within the polymer are related to the mol. wt. of the drug.
