cis-9-Tricosene and cis-9-heneicosene
cis-9-Tricosene and cis-9-heneicosene. Yoshida, Shinichi (Mitsubishi Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Japan). Japan. Kokai JP 51113806 7 Oct 1976 Showa, 6 pp. (Japanese). (Japan). CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: IC: C07C011-02. APPLICATION: JP 75-36063 27 Mar 1975. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 23 (Aliphatic Compounds) Cis-9-tricosene or cis-9-heneicosene was prepd. by cross coupling of a Grignard reagent from 1-halo-cis-9-octadecene with n-amyl or Pr halides, resp. The products are attractants for houseflies (no data). Thus, 5 g Mg in THF was refluxed with 0.15 mole 9-octadecenyl chloride and a little PrBr for 1 h. The Grignard reagent was treated first with 3.33 molar PrBr and then 0.02 mole % CuCl2.2H2O in THF at .ltoreq.10.degree. 110-53-2 and 59485-81-3 are also in the experiment., stirred at .ltoreq.30.degree. for 1 h, and refluxed for 1 h to give 91.7% cis-9-heneicosene, also prepd. in 1.8% yield with CoCl2 as catalyst. N-amyl bromide instead of PrBr gave 87.7% cis-9-tricosene. .
Attractive insecticidal bait for Vespidae
Attractive insecticidal bait for Vespidae. Hildebrandt, Donald W.; Keyel, Richard E. (Johnson, S. C., and Son, Inc., USA). Eur. Pat. Appl. EP 203413 A1 3 Dec 1986, 22 pp. DESIGNATED STATES: R: AT, BE, CH, DE, FR, GB, IT, LI, LU, NL, SE. (European Patent Organization) CODEN: EPXXDW. CLASS: ICM: A01N027-00. APPLICATION: EP 86-106061 2 May 1986. PRIORITY: US 85-729337 1 May 1985. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Section cross-reference(s): 12 (Z)-9-Tricosene, (Z)-9-heneicosene, tricosane and tridecane act as kairomones for Vespidae to locate its prey, the housefly. By incorporating these materials as attractants in a proteinaceous matrix having a delayed toxicant, control over Vespidae may be achieved. Thus, in field expt., a container baited with (Z)-9-tricosene attracted Vespula germanica.
