Entomol., 1st, Meeting Date 1974, 160-6. Stored-Prod. Insects Res. Dev. Lab. Agric. Res. Serv.: Savannah, Ga. (English) 1975. CODEN: 35FEAD. DOCUMENT TYPE: Conference CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) When used in a casein-wheat germ diet, the methyl esters of caproate, caprylate, and caprate, the Ca propionate [4075-81-4] or Na propionate [137-40-6], and K sorbate [590-00-1] were inhibitors of 2 acarid mites (Caloglyphus berlesei and Tyrophagus putrescentiae. Combinations of any of the inhibitors did not produce potentiation or synergism, rather the effects were additive. Antimetabolites or antivitamins such as malonate [141-82-2], pyrithiamine [534-64-5], quinacrine [83-89-6], picolinic acid [98-98-6], aminopterin [54-62-6], 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol [124-68-5], and cholesteryl chloride [910-31-6] were also inhibitory against acarid mites.
