DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 78 (Inorganic Chemicals and Reactions) Polymeric octahedral M(H2O)2C2O4 (M = Ni, Co) were used as metal complex ligands in the prepn. of O-bridged binuclear [(M1L)M(H2O)2C2O4] (M1 = Li, Na, K; HL = 8-hydroxyquinoline, 1-nitroso-2-naphthol). In these complexes the C:O frequencies were obsd.In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 5965-38-8 and 106980-80-7 only < 1650 cm-1, suggesting that all the oxalato groups present in the Co and Ni adducts are not normal terminal but most likely bridged groups. The electronic spectral and magnetic moment studies indicate that the polymeric octahedral Co and Ni ions are converted to tetrahedral ions in their alkali metal adducts. .
