The thermal stabilities of resins cured by I and II were comparable and depended on the concn. of diamine. The mech. properties of laminates of poly(bisphenol A diglycidyl ether) (III) [25085-99-8] cured by II were slightly superior to those of III cured by I. A significant improvement in mech. properties of laminates was obsd. upon addn. of the reactive elastomer amine-terminated nitrile rubber.

An epoxysilane-treated glass cloth was impregnated (45% solids pickup) with the varnish, and a 9-ply laminate (1 h at 160° and 40 kg/cm2) was obtained which had good heat and solder resistance.
