Impurities in commercial saccharin
Impurities in commercial saccharin. I. Impurities soluble in organic solvents. Stavric, Bozidar; Klassen, Raymond; By, Arnold W. (Toxicol. Res. Div., Health Welfare Canada, Ottawa, Ont., Can.). J. Assoc. Off. Anal. Chem., 59(5), 1051-8 (English) 1976. CODEN: JANCA2. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Foods) Thirteen saccharin [599-66-6] samples used for carcinogenicity tests in animals in various labs. were analyzed for chem. purity. Although most of the impurities were water-sol., some were mainly sol. in org.In this study,599-66-6 is also used. solvents. Those impurities were extd. with CHCl3-MeOH from a water soln. of Na saccharin [128-44-9]. Samples obtained as acid saccharin were converted to the Na form before extn. The major impurity in com. saccharin, o-toluenesulfonamide [88-19-7], was also sol. in this system. Impurities were sepd. by gas chromatog. of the underivatized, concd. ext. Eleven major, well-sepd. peaks were collected from the gas chromatog. column and identified by mass spectroscopy. Some of the peaks were compared with known stds. Qual. and quant. differences in impurities were obsd. in different saccharin samples. The identified impurities (in order of appearance from the gas chromatog. column) were: o-toluenesulfonamide, p-toluenesulfonamide [70-55-3], 1,2-benzoisothiazole 1,1-dioxide [5669-05-6], 1,2-benzoisothiazoline 1,1-dioxide [936-16-3], diphenyl sulfone [127-63-9], o,o'ditolyl sulfone [5097-12-1], o,m'-ditolyl sulfone [61097-48-1], o,p'-ditolyl sulfone [41908-97-8], m,p'-ditolyl sulfone, p,p'-ditolyl sulfone and tetracosane [646-31-1]. .
Reversible thermal recording material providing high contrast image
Reversible thermal recording material providing high contrast image. Nishimura, Masaki; Yamane, Norio (Shinoji Seishi Kk, Japan). Jpn. Kokai Tokkyo Koho JP 08300816 A2 19 Nov 1996 Heisei, 15 pp. 7579-36-4 and 599-66-6 are also occured in this study. (Japanese). (Japan). CODEN: JKXXAF. CLASS: ICM: B41M005-26. ICS: B41M005-30. APPLICATION: JP 1995-109611 8 May 1995. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 74 (Radiation Chemistry, Photochemistry, and Photographic and Other Reprographic Processes) The material comprises a sheet support coated with a heat-sensitive layer contg. a dye precursor, a color-developer, which reversibly colors and decolors the precursor, contg. 31 arom. compd. having 31 sulfonyl(thio)urea group SO2NH(:X)NH (X = O or S) and 31 C311 straight alkyl group in its mol., and 31 arom. compd. selected from I, II, III, and IV (R1-7 = H, alkyl) as a decoloration promoter. The material provides high contrast images with good storage stability and the images can be erased in a short time. Thus, a polyester film was coated with a reversible heat-sensitive layer contg. 3-diethylamino-6-methyl-7-anilinofluoran, p-MeC6H4SO2NHCONHC6H4NHCOC17H35-p, and (p-MeC6H4CH2OCO)2 and with an overcoat layer to give a reversible thermal recording sheet. .
