DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Chemistry of Synthetic High Polymers) The second-stage kinetics of seed emulsion polymn. of styrene with small particle size at 50° in the presence of K2S2O8 catalyst and Aerosol MA emulsifier was studied by dilatometric method. The relationship between the rate const. of free radical entering the latex particles and the catalyst concn. was obtained. The av. rate const. of free radical leaving the latex particles and the polymn. propagation const. were calcd. from the exptl. data. The monomer concn. inside the latex particles decreased slightly with increasing polymn. conversion. .
