This was obtained by use of a new eluent contg. 3-nitrophthalic acid [603-11-2] and small proportions of MeCN [75-05-8]. 14383-50-7 and 109-99-9 are also in the experiment. Resin-based and SiO2-based anion exchangers of varying ion-exchange capacities are prepd. with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide by a rapid dynamic coating technique. Some new, strong eluents contg. nitrophthalic acids are evaluated and compared with an eluent contg. KH phthalate [877-24-7]. Addn. of MeCN improved the retention behavior of mono- and divalent anions. An automatic system was developed for the detn. of Cl-, NO3-, and SO42- in drinking water. It is shown that a water sample can be analyzed in <2 min on a column of 25 mm length. .
