Chem., 178(5), 1283-94 (English) 1977. CODEN: MACEAK. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Synthetic High Polymers) The copolymn. of CO2 with propylene oxide or with 7-oxabicyclo[4.1.0]heptane using Et3Al as a catalyst component proceeded through a coordinated anionic mechanism. Use of ethereal solvents increased the CO2 content of the copolymers, giving fractions which had almost an alternating sequence. The addn. of a Lewis base, esp. Ph3P [603-35-0] to Et3Al [97-93-8] also increased CO2 content in the polymers.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 37 (Plastics Fabrication and Uses) A hot-melt adhesive compn. of a polyester of an arom. dicarboxylic acid with an aliph. dicarboxylic acid and a glycol with the reduced viscosity (.eta.; 6:4 PhOH-C2H2Cl4; 0.4 g/dL; 80.degree.) .gtoreq.0.3 dL/g and a P compd., e.g., triphenylphosphine (I) [603-35-0], was fire-resistant. Thus, a blend of a polyester [60194-60-7] (prepd. by polymg. 466 parts dimethyl terephthalate with 545 parts ethylene glycol and 368 parts dodecanedioic acid; .eta. 0.45 g/dL) contg. 5% I was heated 20 min at 200.degree. in N to give an adhesive with limiting O index 34. The strength of bonding between two Al foils joined with the resulting adhesive was 550 g/cm (23.degree.) and 100 g/cm (100.degree.). .
