Studies of orientational order of some nematogens by means of Raman scattering spectroscopy. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 75 (Crystallography and Liquid Crystals) Section cross-reference(s): 73 The orientational behavior of some liq. crystals with various mol. structures was studied by the Raman scattering depolarization method. The Raman scattering spectra of linearly polarized light were recorded as a function of temp. in the nematic phase. From these spectra the order parameters WP2V and WP4V as well as the mol. distribution function were detd. The obtained data were compared with those estd. from polarized light absorption and emission measurements. The influence of the mol. structure on the orientational order of liq. 60127-37-9 and 61204-02-2 are just another two chemicals used in this study. crystals is discussed. .
