Spraying 0.025% Tactic (amitraz) [33089-61-1] killed all the ticks, including gorged females, within 2 days and protected cattle for 9 days, independently of weather. Spraying 0.1% ethaphos [38527-91-2] also eradicated the ticks, but protected cows for 7 days only. Milk was contaminated with 0.05-2.5 mg ethaphos/kg for 6-7 days of treatment.
