(I; R = tertiary amino groups; n = 2 or 3) were prepd. by reaction of 4,6-dichloro-5-aminopyrimidine [5413-85-4] with the various H2N(CH2)nR to give the corresponding 4-(R-alkylamino)-5-amino-6-chloropyrimidines, redn. of the latter with H2/Pd, and condensation of the redn. There are some commonly used reagents with their cas registry numbers 88442-84-6 and 109-55-7 in this article. products with Et pyruvate [617-35-6] to give I. In tests on conditioned avoidance behavior in rats (50-100 mg/kg, s.c.), the only I active was 1-dimethylaminoethyl-3-methyl-6,8-diazaquinoxalin-2(1H)one (I; R = NMe2; n = 2) [88442-87-9], which was approx. as effective as chlorpromazine in inhibiting the acquisition and modification of such behavior. .

- Mutagenic investigation of flavorings: dimethyl succinate, ethyl pyruvate and aconitic acid are negative in the Salmonella/mammalian-microsome test. Andersen, Pia Haubro; Jensen, Niels Juul (Inst. Toxicol., Natl. Food Inst., Soeborg DK-2860, Den.). Food Addit. Contam., 1(3), 283-8 (English) 1984. CODEN: FACOEB. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Food and Feed Chemistry) The flavorings: dimethyl succinate [106-65-0], Et pyruvate [617-35-6], and aconitic acid [499-12-7], commonly used in candy, beverages, and baked goods, were tested in the Salmonella/mammalian-microsome test. Tester strains were TA 1535, TA 100, TA 1537, and TA 98 and doses were 32, 160, 800, 4000, and 20,000 mg/plate. All tests were performed with and without the S9 fraction from Aroclor induced rat liver. None of the flavorings showed mutagenic potential. These results support the classification made by the Council of Europe, List I (1981).
