The Armenian Porochrom 1 belongs to the group of white diatomites with pore vols. 1.3-2 cm3/g, large effective radius, and uniform pore size distribution, such as Chromosorb W, Celite 545, and Chromaton N. The catalytic activity of Porochrom 1 is low, owing to relatively low concns. of Fe2O3 and Al2O3. Examples are given of gas chromatog. sepns. of butylcresols, hexachlorocyclohexanes, and isoquinoline alkaloids on silane- or silazane-treated Porochrom 1 columns.Except for chemicals metioned above, 61790-53-2 is also used. .
