- Effect of sodium pentobarbital on the apparent turnover of acetylcholine in different brain regions
- Effect of sodium pentobarbital on the apparent turnover of acetylcholine in different brain regions. Nordberg, Agneta; Sundwall, Anders (Biomed. Cent., Univ. Uppsala, Uppsala, Swed.). Acta Physiol. Scand., 99(3), 336-44 (English) 1977. CODEN: APSCAX. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacodynamics) Section cross-reference(s): 13 The turnover rate of acetylcholine (ACh) [51-84-3] was measured in 6 different brain regions in the mouse following pulse injection of 3H-labeled choline (Ch) [62-49-7].Some commonly used reagents like 51-84-3 and 57-33-0 are used in this experiment. The time course of the change in 3H-ACh/3H-Ch ratio was linear 0-60 sec in all brain regions after administration of 3H-Ch. Plots of the specific radioactivities of ACh and Ch vs. time indicated a precursor-product relation in all brain regions, except the cerebellum, both in control and Na pentobarbital (I) [57-33-0] anesthesized animals. The turnover was highest in the striatum (55 nmol.cntdot.g-1.cntdot.min-1), while in the cortex and hippocampus this value was approx. half (27 and 21 nmol.cntdot.g-1.cntdot.min-1). In the midbrain and medulla oblongata the turnover rates were only 11 and 10 nmol.cntdot.g-1.cntdot.min-1. I anesthesia decreased the turnover in the cortex and hippocampus to about 60 to 70%. .
- Effect of various auxins on growth and production of tropane alkaloids by in vitro tissue culture of Datura metel Linn
- Effect of various auxins on growth and production of tropane alkaloids by in vitro tissue culture of Datura metel Linn. Khanna, Pushpa; Khanna, Renu (Dep. Bot., Univ. Rajasthan, Jaipur, India). Indian J. Pharm., 38(5), 120-3 (English) 1976. CODEN: IJPAAO. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Supplementing modified Murashige-Skoog medium with 1 ppm naphthaleneacetic acid (I) [26445-01-2] increased the alkaloid formation by the title callus culture more than did IAA [87-51-4] or 2,4-D (II) [94-75-7]. However, II stimulated the growth more than did IAA and I. The alkaloids formed on I and IAA were atropine [51-55-8], choline [62-49-7], hyoscine [51-34-3], and hyoscyamine [101-31-5].Except for chemicals metioned above, 101-31-5 and 51-55-8 are also used. .
