DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 45 (Industrial Organic Chemicals, Leather, Fats, and Waxes) Five di-esters of ethylene glycol and two di-esters of maleic acid were prepd., and their effects on the fatliquoring were studied. These di-esters were emulsified with surfactants for the fatliquoring. The tensile strength, tear resistance and elongation of leather samples which are fatliquored with those diesters were measured. The absorption of the leather samples for the fat liquor were also detd. The different structure of di-esters had different effects on the tensile strength, tear resistance of leather samples, but there was no apparent difference of elongation among the di-esters. .
