APPLICATION: CS 73-8625 13 Dec 1973. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 40 (Dyes, Fluorescent Whitening Agents, and Photosensitizers) Black trisazo dyes based on tetrazotized 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl sulfide (I) [139-65-1] rather than benzidine were prepd. The compds. are esp. useful for dyeing leather. A typical dye, II [61966-19-6], was obtained by successive coupling of tetrazotized I with 1,8,3,6-HO(H2N)C10H4(SO3H)2 [90-20-0], diazotized PhNH2, and 3-H2NC6H4NHCH2CO2H [6262-30-2].Except for chemicals metioned above, 61966-19-6 and 139-65-1 are also used. .
