DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 25 (Noncondensed Aromatic Compounds) Nineteen 4,3-R(F3C)C6H3OCH(COR1)C6H4R2-4 (I; R = R2 = F, Cl; R1 = OH, OMe, NH2, AcNHCH2CH2O, etc.) were prepd. and tested for hypolipemic activity. Thus, 4,3-F(F3C)C6H3NH2 was diazotized and treated with urea and aq. H2SO4 to give 52% 4,3-F(F3C)C6H3OH, which reacted with 4-ClC6H4CHBrCO2Et and NaOMe to give 86% I (R = F, R1 = OEt, R2 = Cl). Tests on rats showed that I are effective for lowering the cholesterol and triglyceride level in blood e.g., 17 mg/kg of I (R = F, R1 = AcNHCH2CH2O, R2 = Cl) gave 30% cholesterol level lowering, compared to 160 mg/kg for clofibrate.Except for chemicals metioned above, 61721-15-1 and 6294-93-5 are also used. .
