DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) Section cross-reference(s): 5 Toxaphene [8001-35-2] at 0.1 and BHC [58-89-9] at 0.1 and 0.2% were highly phytotoxic to bitter gourd and moderately toxic to cucumber. Endrin [72-20-8], endosulfan [115-29-7], parathion [56-38-2], quinalphos [13593-03-8] at 0.05%; malathion [121-75-5], at 0.1%; carbaryl [63-25-2] and trichlorphon [52-68-6] at 0.2% were moderately toxic to bitter gourd. However, as compared to bitter gourd they were less phytotoxic to cucumber except for endosulfan, malathion and carbaryl, which were safer to cucumber.
