Laboratory evaluation of bromethalin as a control substance for common vole [Microtus arvalis Pall
Laboratory evaluation of bromethalin as a control substance for common vole [Microtus arvalis Pall.] and mouse (Mus musculus V. alba). Romankow-Zmudowska, Anna (Inst. Ochr., Roslin, Pol.). Pr. Nauk. Inst. Ochr. Rosl., 25(1), 75-81 (English) 1983. CODEN: PNORA5. ISSN: 0554-8004. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Bromethalin [63333-35-7] (50 ppm) caused 20-40% mortality of common voles and 40-100% of mice in 4-8 day period; at 100 ppm it caused 50-67% mortality of voles and 40% of mice. Males of both species accepted bromethalin bait better than females, and also the mortality ratio was greater among them. A relation was obsd. between the body wt. of the rodent and its sensitivity to bromethalin. Bromethalin also caused psychomotor disturbances in the common vole.

Rodenticidal activity of the preparation Brometalin (EL-614). Mateva, M.; K'osev, M.; Georgieva, G.; Marinov, V. (Med. Akad., Sofia, Bulg.). Epidemiol., Mikrobiol. Infekts. Boles., 21(4), 68-72 (Bulgarian) 1984. CODEN: EMIBA3. ISSN: 0425-1482. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Rodents were controlled by lab. chow spiked with 0.0075% Brometalin (EL-614) [63333-35-7] and control chow for 3 days; control was 100% of Rattus rattus and R. norvegicus, and 83.3% of Mus musculus. Both a control and the spiked lab chow were offered. Brometalin at 0.02% killed 20% Apodemus sylvaticus.
