Pure Appl. Chem., Univ. Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scot.). J. Chem. Soc., Dalton Trans., (19), 1884-7 (English) 1977. CODEN: JCDTBI. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 22 (Physical Organic Chemistry) Raman spectra were studied for aq. solns. of Na+-EDTA at pH 4.5-13. Spectra were also detd. for M4L.3H2O, M3(HL).2H2O, M2(H2L).2H2O (M = K, Na), and [Mg(OH2)6][H2L] (H4L = EDTA). The data suggest that at pH 7.5 in H2O, HL3- adopts a configuration in which both N atoms are sym. protonated and H bonds are formed to 2 carboxylate groups. 6381-92-6 are also occured in this study. The configuration of H2L2- is probably similar, but involves H bonds to 4 carboxylate groups. ..
