A.; Milaev, A. I.; Gruzdev, N. I.; Shchapov, G. A. (Mosk. Energ. Inst., Moscow, USSR). Teploenergetika (Moscow), (5), 8-10 (Russian) 1977. CODEN: TPLOA5. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 71 (Nuclear Technology) The best results for the title purpose were obtained by using solns. contg. Trilon B [64-02-8] and citric acid [77-92-9] at 170-200.degree.. The corrosion resistance of steel 16 GNM [37302-14-0] in the decontaminating soln. was satisfactory at 200.degree.. During a decontamination period of 10-12 h, the depth was corrosion was <0.1 mm. The use in the compn. of a Captax [149-30-4] inhibitor (0.1 g/kg) had no substantial effect on the corrosion loss of this steel at high soln. temp. Isotopes removed to some extent were: 64Cu, 60Co, 65Zn, and 51Cr.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 51 (Fossil Fuels, Derivatives, and Related Products) Section cross-reference(s): 46 Petroleum was recovered by injecting into a petroleum formation a micellar displacement system contg. tetra-Na EDTA salt (I) [64-02-8] or tri-Na NTA salt [5064-31-3] as a chelating agent in such an amt. as to maintain the pH of the aq. portion of the micellar system at .gtoreq.9 and waterflooding to drive the micellar displacement system towards a prodn. well. Thus, 95.5% petroleum recovery was obtained by injecting 0.0375 pore vol.% of micellar soln. (petroleum 38.2, oil-sol. sulfonate surfactants 6.17, H2O-sol. sulfonate surfactant 4.26, and Bu Cellosolve [111-76-2] stabilizer 1.37 vol.%) and 50 vol.% aq. phase (2 vol.% Chesney brine contg. 2800 ppm Ca and 1500 ppm Mg and 48 vol.% water contg. 50 ppm Ca and Mg) contg. 0.7 wt.% I and having pH 9.9 and flooding with 0.6 pore vol. of water contg. polyacrylamide (Q41F) [9003-05-8].
