In an inhibitory substance test, Avotan 50 [37332-99-3], Payzone 250 [804-36-4], Eskalin 500 [11006-76-1], Zn bacitracin [1405-89-6], lincocin [859-18-7], elancoban [17090-79-8], tylasul [74227-39-7], tylan [1401-69-0], Aurofac 100 [64-72-2], CuSO4, cyfac [95330-20-4] and nifulidone [67-45-8] were inhibitory, and emtryl [551-92-8], fortigros [95255-42-8], 3-nitro [121-19-7], quixalud [8067-69-4], salcostat [148-01-6], sulfuride [16915-70-1], sulfamethazine [57-68-1], aflatoxin B1 [1162-65-8], citrinin [518-75-2], diacetoxyscirpenol [2270-40-8], ochratoxin A [303-47-9], patulin [149-29-1], sterigmatocystin [10048-13-2], T2 toxin [21259-20-1], and zearalenone [17924-92-4] were not inhibitory. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 64 (Pharmaceutical Analysis) Chlortetracycline (I) [57-62-5] was successfully sepd. from its degrdn. products and from other tetracyclines on a paper chromatogram previously impregnated with a mixt. of edetate disodium and urea soln. in pH 5.0 McIlvaine buffer. I sepn. from its degrdn. products and from both tetracycline [60-54-8] and oxytetracycline [79-57-2] was attributed primarily to the complexation of these antibiotics with urea and edetate on the chromatogram. The sepd. spots were located under UV light, and their Rf values were calcd. I recovery from the paper chromatogram was 98.3% ± 0.002%. The developed method was successfully applied to the detn. of I in various dosage forms. In addn., the method was adequate for monitoring I-HCl [64-72-2] stability in aq. solns.
