Steranes and terpanes in Upper Tertiary of Qaidam Basin as indicators for source rocks and their maturity
Steranes and terpanes in Upper Tertiary of Qaidam Basin as indicators for source rocks and their maturity. Huang, Difan; Li, Jinchao; Jiang, Naihuang; Tong, Yuying (Sci.Some chemicals with cas registry numbers like 90236-63-8 are also used. Inst. Pet. Explor. Dev., Minist. Pet. Ind., Beijing, Peop. Rep. China). Sci. Sin., Ser. B (Engl. Ed.), 26(11), 1216-32 (English) 1983. CODEN: SSBSEF. ISSN: 0253-5823. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 51 (Fossil Fuels, Derivatives, and Related Products) Section cross-reference(s): 30, 32, 80 The evolutional characteristics and the geochem. significance of immature, mature, and highly-mature steranes and polycyclic terpanes (of Upper Tertiary origin) in a deep well of Qaidam Basin was examd. on the basis of their compns. and configurations obtained from gas chromatog.-mass spectroscopic data. The data are further used in combination with ESR data to det. the threshold depth of the main oil generation zone. In combination with stable C isotopic data, a mainly terrigeneous source for the sterane and terpane precursors was also identified. Pregnane [641-85-0] is common in the sample. A complete series of tricyclic C14-22 diterpanes is formed after the org. matter matures. .
Steroid interactions with cytochrome P-450 from testis microsomes
Steroid interactions with cytochrome P-450 from testis microsomes. Hales, Dale B.; Betz, George (Sch. Med., Univ. Colorado, Denver, CO 80262, USA). J. Steroid Biochem., 21(6), 639-42 (English) 1984. CODEN: JSTBBK. ISSN: 0022-4731. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 2 (Mammalian Hormones) In contrast to placental microsomal cytochrome P 450 [9035-51-2] which binds C19 steroids, testis microsomal cytochrome P 450 primarily binds C21 steroids. However, addn. of a 17a-Me, 17b-acetate, or 17b-benzoate group to testosterone [58-22-0] permits interaction. The addn. of hydroxyl or Me groups to other positions does not affect binding. The presence of multiple O functions on C21 steroids, as in cortisol [50-23-7] and corticosterone [50-22-6], precludes interaction. At least 1 O function seems necessary for binding as 5a- [641-85-0] and 5b-pregnane [481-26-5] do not bind, whereas 20-deoxypregnenolone [2862-58-0] does bind. Thus, factors in addn. to hydrophobic interactions dictate the binding of steroid substrates to testis microsomal cytochrome P 450.
