- D-Ribonolactone
- D-Ribonolactone. Sturc, Antonin (Czech.). Czech. CS 222096 B 15 Jul 1985, 2 pp. (Czechoslovakia) CODEN: CZXXA9.Some commonly used reagents like 642-98-8 and 28060-81-3 are used in this experiment. CLASS: IC: C07C059-105. APPLICATION: CS 82-794 4 Feb 1982. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 33 (Carbohydrates) Lactonization of D-ribonic acid (I) from a partially concd. aq. soln. and subsequent electroredn. of the D-ribonolactone (II) obtained gave ribose. Thus, an aq. I soln. was concd.. in vacuo at 60° to 8% H2O, the sirup was kept 1 day, adjusted to ~17% II, 4% (NH4)3PO4, and pH 3,3, and reduced over a Hg cathode at 800 A/m2 and 12° to give 30% current yield of D-ribose. .
