Structures of these substances were detd. by chem. and spectroscopic methods. Orcinol aroms., most of which are reported as metabolic products of molds, were confirmed to be synthesized in higher plants. In the case of A. sieboldii, the proportion of these compds. is larger in the early growing period. .
