- Decomposition of atrazine and NaTA in different soils. Suess, A.; Eben, C. (Bayer. Landesanst. Bodenkult. Pflanzenbau, Munich, Ger.). Gesunde Pflanz., 29(8), 188-92 (German) 1977. CODEN: GEPFAG. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Section cross-reference(s): 19 14C-labeled Na trichloroacetate [650-51-1] was 50-70% degraded in soil, within 10 weeks, as shown by measuring 14CO2 formation. For the same period 14C-ring-labeled atrazine (I) [1912-24-9] was only 3.6-10.2% converted into 14CO2. For both compds., the rate of degrdn. was dependent on the type of soil. The total 14C recovery was 60-75% for Na trichloroacetate and 100% for I.
- Effect of herbicides on microbiological activity and productivity of sugar beets and corn in vegetation experiments
- Effect of herbicides on microbiological activity and productivity of sugar beets and corn in vegetation experiments. Bukhrer, E. G.; Khasanova, M. R. (USSR). Tr. - Minist. Sel'sk. Khoz. Uzb. SSR, Gl. Upr. S-kh. Nauki, 10, 85-95 (Russian) 1975. CODEN: TSUND3. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Section cross-reference(s): 19 Application of dalapon [75-99-0] to potted sugar beets in a dose corresponding to 6 kg/ha stimulated germination, increased yield, and raised sugar content in root crop, whereas DCM (dichloralurea) [12765-19-4] and TCA Na salt [650-51-1] inhibited germination. Simazine [122-34-9] did not affect the germination of corn. One mo after the herbicide application to sugar beets DCA and TCA Na salt decreased the bacterial count of the soil more than did dalapon, whereas Pyramin [1698-60-8] did not affect the bacteria. Under corn, simazine decreased the nos. of soil bacteria more than did 2,4-D [94-75-7]. All herbicides stimulated the development of soil fungi. TCA Na salt and 2,4-D inhibited soil actinomycetes. In the 2nd yr of herbicide application the microorganisms were less affected. Dalapon and 2,4-D stimulated soil invertase [9001-57-4], whereas TCA Na salt stimulated phosphatase [9013-05-2]. DCM and TCA Na salt decreased the mobile P in the soil, and DCM also decreased the ammonia and nitrate N. However at the end of the growth season the level of mobile P was increased by all herbicidal treatments.
