The method provides strong bonding of the dye and eliminates desorption and bleeding by solvents. Thus, 10 parts TiO2 was treated with 1 part iso-Pr tris(aminoethylaminoethyl) titanate (KR 44) [65380-84-9] in xylene and then dried. The treated TiO2 was dyed yellow with C.I. Acid Yellow 23 [1934-21-0] at pH 4 to give a pastel tinted pigment.

Then, 0.8% fumed silica (antisettling agent) and 2.1% Na petroleum sulfonate (corrosion inhibitor) were admixed sep. for ~30 min each. Final step included adding 6.4% synthetic silica (flattening agent) and milling to a Hegman grind 3-5.
