The best sepns. were obsd. with hydroxyethyl starch, albumin or Ficoll. PVP and PEG gave inferior purifns. Results for cryoppt. and intermediate-purity factor VIII conc. were inferior to those obtained with plasma. Simple pre-concn. of plasma prior to chilling is an attractive alternative for large scale continuous prodn.
