A thermochemical investigation of the decomposition of manganese(II) oxalate dihydrate
A thermochemical investigation of the decomposition of manganese(II) oxalate dihydrate. Brown, M. E.; Dollimore, David; Galwey, A. K. (Chem. Dep., Rhodes Univ., Grahamstown, S. Afr.). Proc. Eur. Symp. Therm. Anal., 1st, 248-51. Edited by: Dollimore, David. Heyden: London, Engl. (English) 1976. CODEN: 35UMAA. DOCUMENT TYPE: Conference CA Section: 69 (Thermodynamics, Thermochemistry, and Thermal Properties) Differential scanning calorimetry was used to study the thermochem. of dehydration, decompn., and oxidn. of manganese(2+) oxalate dihydrate [6556-16-7]. The enthalpy of dehydration is 65.+-. 3 kJ/(mol water). The value calcd. from the literature std. enthlpies is 31 kJ/(mol water); the discrepancy is due to uncertainity in the value of .DELTA.H0f. The enthalpy of the exothermic reaction in O is -300 kJ/(mole oxalate). This does not agree with the estd. value assuming Mn2O3 to be final product. The decompn. is in 3 stages. The respective enthalpy values are calcd.
Study of the dehydration of manganese oxalate dihydrate
Study of the dehydration of manganese oxalate dihydrate. Gardet, Jean J.; Guilhot, Bernard; Soustelle, Michel (Cent. Chim., Ec. Natl. Super. Mines, St.-Etienne, Fr.).There are some reagents like 6556-16-7 is used in this study. Bull. Soc. Chim. Fr., (9-10, Pt. 1), 1413-17 (French) 1976. CODEN: BSCFAS. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 78 (Inorganic Chemicals and Reactions) Section cross-reference(s): 68 The dehydration of MnC2O4.2H2O yields a subhydrate MnC2O4.xH2O, where x is a function of both temp. and H2O vapor pressure. The equil. between the water vapor and the H2O dissolved in the anhyd. MnC2O4 is divariant. The scope of the divariance is limited by the decompn. of the oxalate into the oxide. .
