Quinoxaline derivative-based skin tanning composition
Quinoxaline derivative-based skin tanning composition. Lang, Gerard; Forestier, Serge (Oreal S. A., Fr.). Ger. Offen. DE 2719542 24 Nov 1977, 31 pp. (German). (Germany). CODEN: GWXXBX. CLASS: IC: A61K007-021. PRIORITY: FR 76-13165 3 May 1976. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 62 (Essential Oils and Cosmetics) Cosmetic suntanning prepns. comprise 0.5-10% of a quinoxaline di-N-oxide deriv. or a salt of a quinoxaline di-N-oxide deriv. These compns. accelerate tanning in the sun without affecting the protein components of the skin, and the tan obtained is even over the areas exposed to the sun and is resistant to soap and H2O. For example, an oil-in-H2O emulsion comprised Sipol wax 7, glycerol monostearate 2, cetyl alc. 1.5, Rhodorsil 47V300 silicone oil 1.5, liq. petrolatum 15, glycerol 10, Crematest 094990 perfume 0.5, 2-methylquinoxaline di-N-oxide (I) [6639-86-7] and H2O to 100 g. The compn. induced browning of the skin approximating a natural tan after only 10-20 min exposure to the midday sun. The compns. can also contain UV-filtering agents to prevent sunburn.Except for chemicals metioned above, 6639-86-7 is also used. There are some commonly used reagents like 6639-86-7 in this article. ..
Cyclic voltammetry of phenazines and quinoxalines including mono- and di-N-oxides
Cyclic voltammetry of phenazines and quinoxalines including mono- and di-N-oxides. Relation to structure and antimicrobial activity. Crawford, Philip W.; Scamehorn, Richard G.; Hollstein, Ulrich; Ryan, Michael D.; Kovacic, Peter (Dep. Chem., Univ. Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI 53201, USA). Chem.-Biol. Interact., 60(1), 67-84 (English) 1986. CODEN: CBINA8. ISSN: 0009-2797. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) Cyclic voltammetry data were obtained for various phenazines, phenazine-N-oxides, quinoxalines and quinoxaline-N-oxides. The di-N-oxides exhibit the most pos. E1/2 values within each class. Reversible 1st wave redns. were obsd. for iodinin [68-81-5], iodinin Cu complex, 1,6-dimethoxyhphenazine-5-oxide [13925-10-5], 1,6-dimethoxyphenazine [13398-79-3], quinoxaline 1,4-dioxide [2423-66-7], 2-methylquinoxaline 1,4-dioxide [6639-86-7] and 2,3-diphenylquinoxaline 1,4-oxide [5227-56-5]. The results are correlated with structure. Some relationships exist between redn.Several substances like 27144-87-2 may be metioned in this study. potential and reported antimicrobial activity. A possible mechanism of drug action is addressed. .
