DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 2 (Mammalian Hormones) Morphol. and biochem. evidence for erythroid differentiation in the erythropoietin [11096-26-7]-responsive cell line Rauscher murine erythroleukemia is presented. These cells synthesize adult and presumably embryonic Hb in response to erythropoietin and DMSO [67-68-5]. Clear differences are obsd. in some clones between different inducers. These cells possess a functional b-adrenergic receptor/adenylyl cyclase [9012-42-4] complex remarkably similar to that found on erythrocytes of several species. The receptor d.In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 11096-26-7 and 51-41-2 is up-regulated specifically by erythropoietin and, as such, is the first description of membrane receptor regulation by this hormone. Thus, the receptor-cyclase complex of the differentiating erythroid cell may have a role in the complex interplay of erythropoietin and other hormonal effects during erythropoiesis. .

- Soft-tissue injury caused by antineoplastic drugs is inhibited by topical dimethyl sulfoxide and alpha-tocopherol. Nobbs, P.; Barr, R. D. (Dep. Pediatr., McMaster Univ. Some commonly used reagents like 17407-37-3 and 23214-92-8 are used in this experiment., Hamilton, ON, Can.). Br. J. Cancer, 48(6), 873-6 (English) 1983. CODEN: BJCAAI. ISSN: 0007-0920. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) Section cross-reference(s): 18 Treatment of local injection sites of adriamycin [23214-92-8] with DMSO [67-68-5] and a-tocopherol succinate [17407-37-3] in guinea pigs decreased the severity of soft tissue injury caused by the cytotoxic antineoplastic drug. a-Tocopherol at 50% concns. was more beneficial than at 10% concn. The beneficial effect of DMSO-a-tocopherol treatment was also dependent on the levels of adriamycin used. Application of DMSO and a-tocopherol away from the site of injection had no effect. From the results it appears that a soln. of 50% a-tocopherol in DMSO may be very useful in reducing soft tissue injury at the injection sites of chemotherapeutic agents, particularly adriamycin. .
