DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) The effects of the surfactants ethylan D256 [107397-29-5], Agral [9016-45-9], Actipron, Cropspray 11E [60454-73-1] and Frigate on the herbicidal activity of flamprop-M-isopropyl [52756-22-6] were evaluated with the annual weed Alopecurus myosuroides. Although the doses of this herbicide were too low to control A. myosuroides, the treated plants exhibited decreased wts.; Agral was the least effective in enhancing herbicide activity. Ethylan D256 enhanced the herbicidal activities of ioxynil [1689-83-4], bromoxynil [1689-84-5], mecoprop [7085-19-0], bifenox [42576-02-3] and fluroxypyr [69377-81-7] against Galium aparina to varying degrees. The use of surfactants to enhance herbicidal activity is discussed. .

The duration of the evapn. of phytotoxic compds. was monitored on three products: Brominal MEP (I) [106425-76-7], Asepta Anitop (II) [106466-04-0], and Oxytril M (III) [61971-51-5]. After 9 days of herbicide evapn. from sprayed cereal seedlings, the plants teated with I, II, and III were placed in boxes with garden cress. The I, II, and III vapors inhibited the growth of its roots by 57, 37, and 11%, resp. When cereal seedlings were enclosed with garden cress immediately after spraying herbicidal esters and drying, II vapors inhibited the cress root growth by 72, I 92, HH 8687 [106425-77-8] 93, III 80, Asepta mecoben [106442-65-3] 76, Garlon 4 E [64700-56-7] 62, and Starane [69377-81-7] 15%. The amine formulations Verigal [85792-14-9], Brabant 2,4-D amine [2008-39-1], Liro MCPA estamine [72961-98-9], and Jepolinex [62113-07-9] inhibited the root growth by 81, 25, 26, and 23%, resp. Salt formulations were least toxic, Asepta Ludin [106425-75-6], Certrol Combin [106425-74-5], and Luxan Mecomix [106425-73-4] inhibiting the growth by 10, 4, and 2.5%, resp.
