Effect of mono- and bis-quaternary pyridinium oximes on the acute toxicity and on the serum cholinesterase inhibitory activity of dioxacarb, carbaryl and carbofuran
Effect of mono- and bis-quaternary pyridinium oximes on the acute toxicity and on the serum cholinesterase inhibitory activity of dioxacarb, carbaryl and carbofuran. Boskovic, B.; Vojvodic, V.; Maksimovic, M.; Granov, Azra; Besarovic-Lazarev, Svetlana; Binenfeld, Z. (Army Tech. Inst., Belgrade, Yugoslavia). Arh.There are some reagents with their cas registry numbers 1563-66-2 and 3613-82-9 are used in this study. Hig. Rada Toksikol., 27(4), 289-95 (English) 1976. CODEN: AHRTAN. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) The acute toxicities of dioxacarb (I) [6988-21-2] and carbofuran (II) [1563-66-2] in mice, s.c. or i.p. injected, were significantly decreased by the presence of atropine (III) [51-55-8], but III had little protective effect in carbaryl (IV) [63-25-2] poisoning. All 7 mono- and bisquaternary pyridinium oximes tested increased the toxicity of IV, but some were effective in decreasing the toxicities of I and II. The oximes did not influence the action of the carbamate insecticides on the activity of serum cholinesterase [9001-08-5] in vitro in a manner which could explain their effect on toxicity. Apparently, in I, II, and IV poisoning, III may be the drug of choice. The use of oximes in II and IV poisoning may be ineffective or harmful. .
Preliminary experiments towards seed lucerne pest control harmless on bees
Preliminary experiments towards seed lucerne pest control harmless on bees. Toxicity of field-weathered insecticide residues to honeybees. Benedek, Pal; Komlodi, Jozsef; Herczeg, Gyula; Dely, Gyorgy (Plant Prot. Cent., Minist. Agric. Food, Budapest, Hung.).In this article, certain chemicals are used. Some of their cas registry numbers are 122-14-5 and 298-00-0 Novenytermeles, 25(2), 129-40 (Hungarian) 1976. CODEN: NOVEAK. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) Insecticides for pest control in fields of blooming seed lucerne could be divided into 3 groups on the basis of residue toxicities to bees. Samples contg. foliage and inflorescences were collected 8, 12, and 16 hr after treatment, and caged honeybees were exposed to the samples. Elocron [6988-21-2], Thiodan [115-29-7], Sumithion [122-14-5], dimecron [13171-21-6], Zolone [2310-17-0], Padan [15263-52-2], Despirol [4234-79-1], Pirimor [23103-98-2], Safidon [732-11-6], Intrathion [640-15-3], Melipax [8001-35-2], ditrifon [52-68-6], Hostaquick [62-38-4], and Satox [61164-06-5] produced moderate or low mortality, suggesting that they represented little hazard to bees and might be useful for lucerne pest control. In contrast, Wofatox [298-00-0], Cidial [2597-03-7], lebaycid [55-38-9], Ultracid [950-37-8], Actellic [29232-93-7], Hostathion [24017-47-8], Sevin [63-25-2], methion [122-14-5], and Ekiatox [56-38-2] were quite toxic to bes and should never be used on flowering lucerne. The toxicities of Nexion [2104-96-3], Unifosz [62-73-7], Phosdrin [7786-34-7], Gardona [22248-79-9], Anthio [2540-82-1], Unitron [61164-10-1], BI58 [60-51-5], and Fosfotion [121-75-5] were variable, depending on sample age and temp., but these pesticides also should not be used. .
