Surface analytical studies on the formation of layers of metal dialkyl dithiophosphates on frictional surfaces
Surface analytical studies on the formation of layers of metal dialkyl dithiophosphates on frictional surfaces. Berndt, H.; Jungmann, S. (Inst. Chem. Technol., AdW, Berlin, Ger. Dem. Rep.). Schmierungstechnik, 14(10), 306-11 (English) 1983. CODEN: SHRGAC.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 30927-36-7 and 37913-22-7 may be metioned in this study. ISSN: 0371-0157. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 51 (Fossil Fuels, Derivatives, and Related Products) The layer-building properties of M di-n-Bu dithiophosphates (M = Zn [6990-43-8], Ni [37913-22-7], and Sb [30927-36-7]) in lubricating oils were detd. through a no. of spectroscopic methods (i.e., Auger electron spectroscopy, ESCA, electron beam microprobe, and x-ray fluorescence). The load, the hardness of the friction pairs, the oil temp., and the presence of detergent-dispersant additives in the oil influenced layer formation and can lead to a different layer compn. .
Characterizing the boundary layer behavior of metal dialkyl dithiophosphates under conditions of friction
Characterizing the boundary layer behavior of metal dialkyl dithiophosphates under conditions of friction. Sieber, I.; Meyer, K.; Kloss, H.; Bochynek, G. (Inst. Chem. Technol., Akad. Wiss., Berlin, Ger. Dem. Rep.). Schmierungstechnik, 14(10), 299-306 (German) 1983. CODEN: SHRGAC. ISSN: 0371-0157.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 30927-36-7 and 37913-22-7 may be metioned in this study. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 51 (Fossil Fuels, Derivatives, and Related Products) Boundary friction conditions with a Shell 4-ball app. were established to study the layer-forming properties of M di-n-Bu dithiophosphate additives (M = Zn [6990-43-8], Ni [37913-22-7], and Sb [30927-36-7]). Layer thickness and compn. were detd. by electron microprobe anal. The different dithiophosphates form layers with different thicknesses, elemental compn., and enrichment of the metal cations. The layers consist of an Fe main component with small amts. of compds. resulting from the reaction of the dithiophosphate decompn. products with the friction metal. Zn exists in the layer in bound form, while Ni and Sb appear to be unbound. .
