Thus, a mixt. of EtOH 35.0, BuOH 17.7, hexanal 14.0, .alpha.-ionone 1.1, .beta.-ionone 0.7, D-limonene 3.5, 2.5-dimethylpyrazine 3.5, 2,6-dimethylpyrazine 3.5, 2,3-dimethylpyrazine 3.5, and .delta.-undecalactone [710-04-3] 17.5 parts was added to sweet corn flour at 1-5 ppm and to this was added a sep. prepd. mixt. of 0.1% methylmethioninesulfonium chloride [1115-84-0] and 0.04% NaHCO3. Corn soup was prepd. from the mixt. and 75% of the taste panel noticed marked improvement in aroma and flavor.
