The emulsions contain I 70-98.5, H2O 1-20, and surfactant 0.Several reagents with their cas registry numbers 61313-75-5 and 61253-11-0 are used here.5-10%. A compd. of a phosphoric ester of a C6-20 aliphatic alc. and 2 amines, one of which is sol. in H2O and the other in nonpolar solvents, serves as a surfactant. Thus, an emulsion was obtained by mixing (Me2CH)2NH [108-18-9]-tridecyl di-H phosphate [5116-94-9]-bis(tridecyl) H phosphate [5116-95-0] 80, 3-(oleylamino)propanamine [7173-62-8]-tridecyl di-H phosphate-bis(tridecyl) H phosphate 20, H2O 200 and I 700 g. By further diln. of this mixt. with I, emulsions contg. 8, 6, 4 and 2% H2O and 4, 3, 2 and 1%, resp., of the surfactant were obtained. These emulsions were stable from 20 to 45-46.degree., i.e. to the boiling temp. .

N-oleylpropylenediamine [7173-62-8] (5 parts) and 1 part I gave the crosslinking component. The coating base (1200 parts) and 470 parts crosslinking component were mixed and applied to a wet ceramic building brick to give a tough, glossy film after overnight curing. Epoxy resins with conventional amine curing agents tend to cure incompletely or not at all under wet conditions.
