Knowing the thermal behavior of these drugs, their degree of purity enthalpy of fusion, and entropy were evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry.

The mean peak serum value for the 6 women studied was 278.5 g/mL/m2 of body surface area, and was reached 11.17 days after dosing, with a half-life of absorption (t1/2 abs) of 9.37 days. The 5 out of 6 subjects ethinylestradiol was detectable in the circulation for 21 days after injection. The mean serum concn. time curve was 2720.67 ppg/day/mL/m2. The shape of the 1 to 21 days concn.-time curve showed a sustained-release pattern, suitable for a long acting fertility regulation method.
