The additives were I (R1 = C20-1000 alkyl- and OH-substituted benzyl; m, n = 2, 3; R = C1-20 alkyl; a, x, and c = 0, 1; b = 0-5) or a mixt. of a monoamine Rn1NR3-n (II, R1 = C50-1000 alkyl- and OH-substituted benzyl; n = 1, 2 or the diamine R1NH(CH2)nNHR1 (R1 = as in II; n = 2-6) with a polyamine R1NH[(CH2)mNR]y(CH2)mNHR1 (R1 = as in II; R = H, R1; m = 2, 3; y = 1-5). Preferred polyamines were derivs. of 1-(aminoethyl)piperazine [140-31-8], 1,4-bis(aminopropyl)piperazine [7209-38-3], and dipropylenetriamine [56-18-8]. The mixts. contained the mono- or diamine and the polyamine in the ratio 20--20.
