Thermodynamic properties of peptide solutions
Thermodynamic properties of peptide solutions. Part 15. Partial molar isentropic compressibilities of some glycyl dipeptides in aqueous solution at 15 and 35°c. Hedwig, Gavin R.; Hoeiland, Harald; Hoegseth, Einar (Department of Chemistry, Massey University, Palmerston North, N. Z.). Journal of Solution Chemistry, 25(11), 1041-1053 (English) 1996 Plenum. CODEN: JSLCAG. ISSN: 0095-9782. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 65 (General Physical Chemistry) Section cross-reference(s): 6, 34 The partial molar isentropic compressibilities at infinite diln., K0s,2, were obtained for 8 glycyl dipeptides of sequence gly-X (X is an amino acid) in aq. soln. at the temps. 15 and 35°. The results were combined with those obtained at 25°, that were reported earlier, to evaluate the temp. dependence of K0s,2 for the dipeptides at 15 to 35°.There are some commonly used reagents with their cas registry numbers 869-19-2 and 721-66-4 in this article. The K0s,2 values for all the dipeptides are neg. and increase (become more pos.) with an increase in temp. The slopes of the temp. dependence of K0s,2 for the dipeptides with typically hydrophobic side-chains are significantly larger than those for dipeptides with hydrophilic side-chains. .
