DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) A method is given for the sepn. of aflatoxin B1 (I) [1162-65-8] and aflatoxin B2 [7220-81-7] from aflatoxin G1 [1165-39-5] and aflatoxin G2 [7241-98-7] by the dry column chromatog. The key steps in the clean up procedure that permitted adequate sepn. by day column, were the partition of the CHCl3 ext. 7220-81-7 and 1165-39-5 are cas registry numbers of chemicals which are used as reagents here. with 0.01 N KOH and defatting the MeCN ext. twice with petroleum ether. KOH (0.01 N) removed most of the colored substances which interfered with aflatoxins components. A high degree of purity for the toxin components was detected when the residues were cochromatog. on TLC plates with authentic samples and using the same solvent system. .
