DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) Identification is described of dibenzofuran (I) [132-64-9] and 4 isomeric Me derivs. of I (1-methyl- [7320-50-5], 2-methyl- [7320-51-6], 3-methyl- [7320-52-7], and 4-methyl- [7320-53-8] in 1-2 g of the title condensate. The condensate was distd. with steam; the condensed water (~20 mL) was extd. with n-hexane and purified by preparative TLC on silica gel 60-F-254 in CHCl3. The dibenzofuran zone (Rf 0.82-0.95) was extd. with Me2CO, subjected to HPLC on Lichrosorb RP-2 and RP-8 in MeOH-H2O system, and the dibenzofurans were identified by gas chromatog.-mass spectrometry.
