- Pharmacological correction of traumatic brain edema
- Pharmacological correction of traumatic brain edema. Novikov, V. E.; Yasnetsov, V. S. (Smolensk. Some commonly used reagents like 56-12-2 and 127-17-3 are used in this experiment. Med. Inst., Smolensk, USSR). Farmakol. Toksikol. (Moscow), 47(1), 34-7 (Russian) 1984. CODEN: FATOAO. ISSN: 0014-8318. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) Diazepam [439-14-5], phenazepam [51753-57-2], and phenibut [1078-21-3] markedly inhibited the development of exptl. traumatic edema in the brains of rats and counteracted trauma-induced increases in the lactate [50-21-5]/pyruvate [127-17-3] index. Pantogam [17097-76-6], nicotinoyl-GABA [34562-97-5], and piracetam [7491-74-9], however, were ineffective. The antiedematous activity of the 1st 3 drugs appears to involve the activation of brain GABAergic systems, as well as the participation of adreno- and cholinoreactive structures involved in brain metab. .
- Relationship between the action of psychostimulants on the learning ability and external and internal factors
- Relationship between the action of psychostimulants on the learning ability and external and internal factors. Belozertsev, Yu. A. (Chita Med. Inst., Chita, USSR). Byull. Eksp. Biol. Med.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 34262-84-5 and 58-08-2 may be metioned in this study., 97(1), 53-5 (Russian) 1984. CODEN: BEBMAE. ISSN: 0365-9615. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) The ability of psychostimulants (sydnocarb [34262-84-5], amphetamine [300-62-9], caffeine [58-08-2], acephen [3685-84-5], piracetam [7491-74-9], or euclidan [1641-74-3]) to improve the learning ability of rats being trained in a T-maze or in a Dombrovskaya maze depended more upon problem complexity than upon the type of problem. Moreover, innate differences in emotionality were of greater importance than differences in inquisitiveness in affecting the training-facilitating effects of these drugs. Thus, in animals tending to respond to stress in a passive manner, sydnocarb and amphetamine enhanced learning ability by abolishing the passive response. .
