Dalapon [75-99-0], another ingredient, did not interfere with the detn. because of its insoly. in iso-PrOH. Other compds. in the formulation did not absorb. The relative error of detn. was 3-4%.

The herbicide inhibited the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase [9001-16-5] more than NADH reductase [9055-49-6], succinate reductase [9028-10-8], and cytochrome c reductase [9027-14-9], and stimulated ATPase [9000-83-3]. I at 16 kg/ha slightly inhibited growth and greatly decreased the levels of SH groups and proteins. Dalapon [75-99-0] at 16 kg/ha initially inhibited the growth more than did I, and decreased the SH and protein levels. However, later the toxicity of dalapon decreased. At 32 kg/ha dalapon inhibited growth and decreased the SH and protein levels during the entire vegetation.
