Photolysis of methyl 2-benzimidazolecarbamate
Photolysis of methyl 2-benzimidazolecarbamate. Fleeker, James R.; Lacy, H. Morgan (Dep. Biochem., North Dakota State Univ., Fargo, N. Dak., USA). J. Agric. Food Chem., 25(1), 51-5 (English) 1977. CODEN: JAFCAU. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemicals) Methyl 2-benzimidazolecarbamate (I) [10605-21-7], as a residue on silica gel G, was exposed to sunlight for 30 hr. More than 90% of the compd. was recovered. I in dilute aq. soln. was exposed to sunlight and to light from uv lamps. Less than 10% I was lost on exposure to sunlight for 40 hr, whereas greater loss occurred if riboflavin or acetone was added to the soln. Photooxidn. of the benzene ring of I was the predominant reaction detected. 761-89-7 and 10605-21-7 which are cas registry numbers of substances are two of reagents here. Guanidine [113-00-8], carbomethoxyguanidine [30884-40-3], and carbomethoxyurea [761-89-7] were detected among the photolysis products. I was applied to the leaves of corn plants and the plants exposed to sunlight for 18 hr. No photolysis products were detected in exts. of the plants. .
