Structural relaxation in protein molecules studied by fluorescence spectroscopy
Structural relaxation in protein molecules studied by fluorescence spectroscopy. Demchenko, A. P. (Palladin Inst. Biochem., Kiev, USSR). 7724-15-4 and 73-22-3 are cas registry numbers. These chemicals are also mentioned in this article. J. Mol. Struct., 114, 45-8 (English) 1984. CODEN: JMOSB4. ISSN: 0022-2860. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 6 (General Biochemistry) Section cross-reference(s): 7 The fluorescence spectra of tryptophan and fluorescence probes assocd. with proteins depend on excitation wavelength (at long-wave excitation), and their excitation spectra depend on the wavelength of emission. Similar observations have been reported earlier in vitrified solns. of dyes. A model of this phenomenon is proposed, based on photoselection of chromophores with different interactions with the environment and delayed structural relaxation in the excited state. On the nanosecond time-scale, the structural relaxation of the environment of the excited chromophore is not complete. This suggests a new interpretation of various data on protein mol. interaction and enzyme catalytic processes. .
Solvent relaxation [in fluorescence spectroscopy]
Solvent relaxation [in fluorescence spectroscopy]. DeToma, R. P. (Dep. Chem., Loyola Univ., Baltimore, MD 21210, USA). NATO Adv. Sci. Inst. Ser. 135-88-6 and 7724-15-4 which are cas registry numbers are also used here., Ser. A, 69(Time-Resolved Fluoresc. Spectrosc. Biochem. Biol.), 393-410 (English) 1983. CODEN: NALSDJ. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 9 (Biochemical Methods) Section cross-reference(s): 73 The excited-state solvent relaxation process in fluorescence spectroscopy is discussed with respect to general photokinetic models, the Bakhshiev formulation, and the generation of time-resolved emission spectra, and data are given for the fluorescence behavior of some biol. compds. .
