This product is a powerful oxidizing agent with the formula ClHO.K. The IUPAC name of this chemical is potassium hypochlorite. With the CAS registry number 7778-66-7 and EINECS 231-909-2, it is also named as Hypochlorous acid, potassium salt (1:1). The classification code is Tumor data. It is colorless aqueous solution with a pungent irritating chlorine odor. What's more, it can form highly explosive NCl₃ on contact with urea. When heating or contact with acids it produces highly toxic fumes of chlorine gas.
